Coming Out Support Group
This community is dedicated to the challenges that gay men and lesbian women face, both between the partners in a relationship and from other influences (family, society, etc.). Find support and talk to others who may be facing the same challenges, and share your experience.
I am sure you did not mean it like this, but I found several things in your response kind of offensive. First of all, coming out to people is in noway related to inviting them into your bedroom... That is just offensive. I am concerned with the possibility of coming out because I want to be my truest self, not because I want to sleep with someone. Also I believe you can know without experience. I do not need to have experience with a masculine female to know that I do not look at them as a gender but are attracted to them as a person. I have a good support with both parent, and my friends so that is not concern of mine. And why would it be bad if I said something and it isn't correct. I believe I am not straight but do not know what I am. Does that mean I can never make a classification unless I am 1000% sure? Is anyone even ever totally sure? I get you were trying to help in your response but please think before you say some of those things to someone.
To the labeling though, you yourself said you weren't ready to jump into specifying a label. The fact is, coming out is labeling yourself and is attaching one. Do you have to be 1000% sure that you are to do so? No, of course not but you do have to be 1000% ready to. The fact is, in the end you do what makes you happy. Now I don't know about you but me personally, until I've actually tried something I dont know if it actually will. Believe me I have done a great deal of things in my life (Many I would not recommend) in the pursuit of finding out what makes me happy. Some of them worked some of them did not. Because you eluded to the idea that you aren't ready to label yourself yet because you are not sure. I made the recommendation to wait till you are and I do believe that the only way you will know for sure is experience. As above this has absolutely nothing to do with a sexual nature and to take it as such is incorrect.
So I am sorry that you took it offensive. Nothing in there was intended to be, but do understand that every word I type is well thought out and I spend a great deal of time considering how I say things in an attempt to avoid misinterpretation (I have now spend an hour on rewording and retyping this to that end). Obviously in this case, I misread one word due to my dyslexia, and for that I am sorry. I have done my best to explain my statements and to why I made those recommendations. I do stand by them as well. If none of this is of use to you, hopefully someone else will respond to you and give you something that will be. In either case, I do hope you find a solution to your confusion and go on to live a happy live whatever path you end up on. I am sorry it took so long to get back to this, I have been without power or means of communication other than in person for about a week due to storms.
