Coming Out Support Group
This community is dedicated to the challenges that gay men and lesbian women face, both between the partners in a relationship and from other influences (family, society, etc.). Find support and talk to others who may be facing the same challenges, and share your experience.
You: "Are you married?"
Them: "No I am not married yet."
You: "Oh but you are dating then?"
Them: "OH yeah and last night after dinner we went in to the bedroom and role played 50 shades of grays red room scene it was amazing... oh those whips."
Really all that needed to be said was yes :P You don't have to ever tell them you are Lesbian, it doesn't make you any less out and proud in the least. You are simply not inviting the stranger into your bedroom. It is going to feel even stranger if the state you live in does not allow same sex marriages as the answer to "are you married?" will always be no, but remember it could be no equally if you werent lesbian. In the end the bedroom element is not something you have to share, so don't. That question and those like them are simply meant as an ice breaker or conversation starter. They get asked of everyone straight or not, regardless of race, nationality, sex, gender, preferance, or whether you are a star trek or star wars. If you answer them and they probe further, simply say that you really would rather not discuss it. Work is work and if you don't want to mix the two then simply say that you really don't want to go into it. It will taper off fast. *huggles*
We have a way to go. I keep thinking some day, sexual orientation won't matter. But for now? I just say, no I am not married, but I keep on looking :-).
