Hi I just joined the group and wanted to let the group know a little bout me.I am just came out to my family and friends about being a lesbian this year.And it was one of the hardest things for me to do.I do have a partner who I love very much.We have known eachother for over twenty years.Before coming out it was very hard on me.I always felt uncomfortable with myself and tried to hide with in relationships with men which always ended up falling apart.My partner and I at first were just best friends and did not become partners until later.I feel as far as someone coming out to their family and friends that is their choice.It was not easy for me to do I ended getting hurt over allowing others to know the real me and I hurt some of the people I love the most in the world.But with it being allmost a year sense I came out slowly my family is starting to come around.I am not saying they are excited about me being a lesbian but they do still love me.One of my biggest supports even though she does not agree with me being a lesbian she still loves me and that is my Mom.My mom calls me every day and has been there for me when I need her and treats me and my partner with respect.I am hoping by joining the group to meet new friends for advice and support.
