I agree with Pretty about the side effects but still it looks very promising. there is one thing though... if it's not selective and does not have prefferential accumulation in tumor cells - normal cells will lose their ability to repair DNA damage which is in turn can cause cancer.

I think they have a way to go on this one. I'm struggling with this concept: If I had a Planter Wart on the my foot before cancer, and it went away with the chemo, and now 3 months after chemo it is back, what does that say about the chemo and the cancer? So, my point is if this viral marker is back, seems like the body goes back to status quo after it recovers from chemo...What ever was lacking to fight off the cancer before hasn't changed? So, I agree with Russian, how do you teach your body to attack the cancer ? That is why I'm interested in the work of Dr. Kuebler in Germany, he supposably has a way to develop a vaccine from your primary tumor... which of course I don't have ...

MPNC - I think you are overthinking. I did some research out of curiosity (guess I'm overthinking too) and topical 5-FU is one of the things they use to treat plantar warts, so no wonder yours went away -

Another thing they use to treat plantar warts is salycylic acid, which they are also using to treat IBS. It's very similar in composition to the active ingredient in aspirin, which Diane & others have told us helps prevent colon cancer recurrences. So perhaps there is some connection but "why" is still a mystery to people who have spent their life studying this! OTOH, it might not hurt to take aspirin.

Like Russian, I believe the answer is in DNA and genetics, which they are only now beginning to understand.
