Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. Another thing they use to treat plantar warts is salycylic acid, which they are also using to treat IBS. It's very similar in composition to the active ingredient in aspirin, which Diane & others have told us helps prevent colon cancer recurrences. So perhaps there is some connection but "why" is still a mystery to people who have spent their life studying this! OTOH, it might not hurt to take aspirin.
Like Russian, I believe the answer is in DNA and genetics, which they are only now beginning to understand.
