Right Hemilectomy

Where is everyone? Looking for some feedback on recovery from right hemilectomy. Know the basics but would like to hear some personal experiences and advice. Planning on laparoscopic procedure in 13 days.

Giday CG and sorry for the slow response. I had a different procedure to you in that I had the rectum removed followed up with 3 months of xeloda chemo and a gauci bag that was later reversed.

Do you know if your medical team intends to give you chemo post op and what chemo this is if they are. Have they given an indication what stage they think it is and what that means in treatment/recovery etc.

Are you doing anything to help your body recover from the surgery and to minimise the negative impacts that are sometimes associated with this disease.

As for the surgery I was opened up from the sternum to the groin so no help with the laparoscopic procedure but from what I heard the recovery is a lot quicker.

I appreciate your hug and your feedback. My procedure is being moved to a larger facility and I will meet with yet another physician this week. Now they tell me I had polyps in my esophagus and other parts of my colon as well. Wont know the details until I pick up my records Monday. I don't understand why they withhold information. But I am used to it and have learned to do my own checking and my own research. I am trying to eat well while I can, exercising lightly to moderately as energy allows and praying daily. What an adventure.
