Colon Cancer Support Group
Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.
Chemo takes a lot out of you. My brother is stage 3 colon rectal cancer.
Dr wants him to get better for a second surgery clean up and a permanent ostermy bag and back to chemo. He is too weak now.
I thought he developed depression. He was not able to eat or drink after discharged at home. I was so worry. All I was doing was praying for him.
2 weeks ago he started to eat and drink a little. So I am hoping everyday he would get better. I just keep praying for him.
You are in my prayer too.
You keep fighting, be strong and have healthy mind. Take it one day at a time. Cherish every minute with your family and friends.
Remember mind can overcome obstacles. Bless you.
Now I get used to it but at first it was unbearable. Now I could smell it whenever I go which is like in my mind inplanted that smell.
I am the same way and I despise it. I had physical therapy that first year after my surgery and treatments stopped too.
During Chemo I had terrible fatigue, to the point of in the first year, (5FU and Rads) I just gave up and said stop everything.
I even had trouble with the PT but stayed the course of 3 months.
"No one can live feeling like this"
They of course said it was My choice, but also said I would not feel any better for a few months and I only had a week left with my treatments. So I continued them. I did begin to feel better but not to the degree most did?
The Onc, said it was because of my age, I was 65 then.
I had/have the neuropathy very bad. My hands still cramp up and become claw-like and my feet and legs cramp and feel tired with only a small amount of movement. and I was always very active.
I had never in my life had a broken bone, until the second year after surgery and chemo. I fell and fractured my Pelvis.
Not my ONC, but my family doctor explained he had seen things like that after Chemo treatments and my recovery would take much longer due to the Rads. About a year later I broke my foot and again long recovery. (Still gives me pain)
Now I have done more research on the effects of chemo and radiation after years.
I have found others that have these same problems after everything.
You are even younger than I was/am but I just wanted to tell you that after all I/We went through. these treatments may have saved our lives' are a Gift that keeps on giving to some of us.
By the way nice conversing with you, again. I have not been on line very much for months.

I never know whether my fatigue is from cancer or Hepatitis C and end stage Liver disease but I just keep chugging as best I can ..
I get very frustrated as I was very active till the cancer
,they took out 12 inches and digestion has not settled down yet .. I am 60
I think fatigue is a difficulty for most cancer /chemo warriors and I am praying it gets better than it is ..I am better this spring than last so .dont give up hope
Allthe best to you all
