Colon Cancer Support Group
Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.
Generally the hernia is an easy fix thank goodness. Are they concerned over the enlargement of the liver /spleen??
Doctors can be an interesting. My surgeon, during my colostomy surgery, found out that I had a hemangioma on my liver, and said it's more common in females and not a concern (I have a female cousin with one also). My Oncologist ordered an MRI to confirm that it was just that.
I shared that info on another visit with my surgeon and he said "I told him it wasn't a concern"...why did he put you through an MRI" ?? My best guess...truly concerned or he was getting a kick back off the cost of the MRI.
Anyway...go figure doctors. I will keep you in my prayers Mark and hope all will be well!! (((hugs)))
I am sorry about your stone and they are painful.
Flutterbies, I don't understand them either?
Mark are they planning to do anything over the enlarged liver and spleen? I have not a clue what they could do, but thought they may have said something to you and are they planning to fix the hernia?

As for the hernia nobody has mentioned it and I think at the moment it is a very small hernia so probably not urgent so I'm not planning to do anything about it until I get back from skiing.
I have only been once and surprised I lived through it. lol (went with my restaurant work crew of about 50 young people)
Mark at one time you were trying to tell me of the little furry thing (you are holding) But they did not give you enough space!
I am not really trying to flatter you, but you deserve it anyway! :) (You look like a extremely young man in that picture) Maybe early 20,s ?
But to our disease. I know a couple of other people with appendix cancer and it is so rare and I think hard to find?
When I had my surgery, my surgeon took out my appendix (for safety sake?)
What bothers me is even before my pre-op chemo/rads pre surgery treatment I showed my surgeon a lump high in my abdomen, and he said it was a hernia and would take care of it during my surgery.
Well he did not? It is still there and I showed it to him again after the surgery, and he denied ever knowing it was there?! It can be very painful when I pull my legs up to put on socks and underwear.
He had given me the clear to start the irrigation (rather than a bag) Now he wants me to wait and see what the hernia does?
How he can deny me ever showing it to him and he said "its just a small hernia"
I have ordered my irrigation kit and wanted to get started on it to see if it will work for me? I am tempted to do it anyway.
I (myself) am very wary of coumadin/warfarin. Just please be careful out skiing etc. A hard fall could cause internal bleeding.
I took care of so many residents that was on coumadin, and it is hard to keep a correct dosage. I worried a lot about them.
You be very careful, OK?

(ps) I just found out yesterday I have a nephew with the enlarged spleen and liver. He also has extreme acrites. He is very very sick and they are 'talking' a liver transplant. My sister (his mother) Is so worried. His weigh loss is emmence, but with the acrites he looks very big except in his arms ect. Has lost all muscle mass.
