Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.

Well its two years ago next week since i was diagnosed with colon cancer ( i was told the day after my 45th birthday) spent a year having resection and chemo and getting my strength back.
Have now been 1 year cancer clear, and tomorrow is my ct scan, so all being well will celebrate my 47th birthday as a 1 year fully clear cancer survivior. Got all my strength back and now trying to live life to the full. Went to the carribean in November and booked for Majorca in July and gonna be a grandma in April, there can be life after cancer !!!

Great post JG and yes there can be life after cancer, being told we have cancer is not an automatic death sentence as your story atests to.

Good luck and I am jealous of the Carribena/Majorca jaunts though I think we are all toooooo young to be Grand parents lol.

Good Luck to you Jaynie tomorrow, I know you will be fine. I am so happy to have made friends with you since I first came on this site, you have been such a sense of inspiration and support to me. However, I wish that we could have connected under different circumstances though. I will always consider you to be my friend. Again Good Luck my friend!!

thanks guys for your words of support, ct scan went to plan, had cea levels checked aswell As i live in the Uk and all our medical is free, dont matter if your well off or on benefits we all get the same treatment, and because of that we dont get results for a couple of weeks, so appointment made for beginning of march to find out results, will keep you posted but feeling good so should be ok
ps thanks Lori, you too have become a good friend and its nice to keep in touch away from the cancer thing on Fb xxx
