Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.

I bet you all are getting tired of looking at my old fuzzy chemo hair. So here I am as of 4-14-10. (the pic I'm replacing here was after my hair started growing back in a few months ago, so during chemo I looked much worse) Most all of colon cancer chemo patients don't loose their hair. I lost about 90% cause I was started out with 100% of all three drugs and it was just too much for my body, was sick with many side effects from day one of the very first treatment. I'm just an odd case.
Soooo onward we go.

You look great! My hair thinned but I did not lose it. I was told I would lose weight on one chemo (approximately 20 lbs.) So I looked at this as a light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel because I wanted to drop around 15 lbs. Well, the expensive nausea pills didn't work, but rice, bread & crackers did work allowing me to continue to go to work. The result was that I gained 12 lbs which I still need to lose. We all definitely react differently to chemo!

I gained 9 lbs on chemo and lost it but gained it back before my yearly scan. ACK

you do look great and an inspiration for those who have lost their hair. Some do although I hear most don't.

I'm glad your hair is getting back to normal..I loss all of my hair, it's growing back though..I have about 1/2 inch, I will be so glad to kick the wig to the curb :)

Vikki, Yup, I couldn't wait to get rid of my wig, it drove me nuts, itchy. and I wore a scarf most of the time, glad to be rid of it, hot. I can't get over how my hair is growing back. This pic of me is just 6 1/2 months post chemo and look how long and thick it is and the texture is so soft. During chemo I looked like a plucked chicken, this look is much better. Your hair will be back to normal or even better in no time at all. God bless you on your cancer journey.

You look great. I think I'm in the same boat as you, they used 100% of all chemo drugs...hair was coming out by the fistfuls. I finally got tired of it and shaved my head. Glad that I did as I have alot of bald spots, although the top is grwing back in...go figure...look like a rooster...haha. Little price to pay and all I do is wear the doo rags...won't do wigs...lol...not in Florida too hot. It will grow back once I am done. You look fantastic!!
