Leg Aches

Hey all! I was diagnosed a year ago Jan. With stage 3 colon cancer. I finished up chemo last Aug. All my tests have come back clean(YEAH). About 3 months ago I started getting leg aches in my thighs. My onc said maybe from chemo. Last week its been bad. I will see him in 2 weeks and have a ct scan scheduled. Has anyone had anything like this? Thanx!

I still suffer neuropathy in my feet post chemo and I know a chemo-sabie here who finished chemo two months ago and experiences cramps and pain in the upper legs. I had a few cramps, but no pain. If it worsens, see if you can bring forward your appointment.

Yes I have leg aches and its nothing like neuropathy but would not be surprised if the cause was from Chemo.
I still get some cramps, but it is nothing like the leg aches? My legs used to be my best strong point walking over 10 miles a day.
Now due to Chemo hurting my respiratory system, I can barely get around the block, without legs aching and out of breathe.
My acheing legs are not constant, but when it hits for hours and hours the only thing that helps is vicoden.
I am hoping with my excercise program that I build them back up and all this stops.

Weazy, make sure they check your potassium. Mine dropped twice and my legs felt awful!!

Oh Yes what Diane said about the potassium! The potassium also help some (or a little bit with the neuropathy. Years ago I was put on the script potassium and was actually on it through Chemo. (One medicine the Onc knew nothing about)
But about a year ago blood level said it was fine, so the doctor took me off it saying it can sometimes cause trouble if too much is taken.
I still take the OTC supplements, but someone told me I would have to take about 20 or more of them to equal one script potassium.
I am not going to take that many! It has not helped the leg aching, but if I get cramps it does help that after a couple of days.

After chemo I tried to start exercising and ended up wrenching the bursa in my shoulder. Went for PT and it helped a lot. About 6 months after chemo went for a colonoscopy and came out unable to walk due to extreme tail bone pain. Spent another couple months in PT. I wonder if chemo had anything to do with becoming more susceptible to injury? Last fall I started yoga and that seems to have helped tremendously.
