Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.
My oncologist called to let me know that my iron levels are low. She ( and my surgeon) don't want me to take oral iron supplements due to the constipation issues.
She has scheduled me for an iron infusion next week. Has anyone had one? If so, any side effects? I'd appreciate hearing your experiences.

She so far is free from the cancer...but, with her age and treatments it has left her anemic.
I just wanted to tell you that she has down just wonderfully with each one. A few times she had a type of muscle spasm in her back/rib cage area and they slowed the process of giving the iron and it helped.
I wish you the best of luck, too. If you have any other questions...I can sure relay them to my Mom and try to help in any way.
