Colon Cancer Support Group
Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.
Sounds like your husband could have chronic illness from more than one cause. Chemotherapy can have long term side effects. Also, long term pain medications can do the same thing. Depression can also be a factor too. I would suggest that you have him see an Naturopathic physician. A type of detox plan could be very helpful for him. Here are some natural remedies too that could help. He needs to drink lots of water between meals. This will assist the body in it's natural cleansing. It is also very helpful for any type of constipation problems. Good to not drink hardly anything at meals though. The gastric juices need to be undiluted so that they can produce good digestion. Exercise is also very important. It aids circulation, one takes in more oxygen, improves muscle strength, etc. Walking is very good . Getting out in nature is also healing for mind and soul. Too, walking about 30 minutes a day will greatly aid one in sleeping at night. Not good to take sleeping meds. The ability of one to sleep at night is often tied to how much exercise they got during the day. A good diet is also an must. One should eat as much as possible of raw fruits in the mornings and raw vegetables with other meals. Stay away from food with high fructose corn syrup. Also, greasy foods. Natural foods are the best and not refined. Too, the body expends a lot of energy digesting food. It is very helpful to not eat after 6pm and never at bed time. The digestive processes can then rest and the body can then do a much better job at restoration and healing. One will notice the difference in general. Eating between meals also is not good either. It takes the body's energy away from the restorative processes too. A big factor in healing also is having a calm mind. As much as possible one needs to think about uplifting things. Also getting out from ones self and getting involved doing things for others. Especially in the family. It is healing. Too, trust in one's higher power. I very much believe in the Bible promises and read them often. One must realize that God doesn't look at death as we do. He knows who his people are. The promise in John 14:1-3 is so wonderful. Death is like a sleep. We fall asleep and then the next thing that we know is that we are awake again. Gen:3:19 says that we return to dust and then 1Thess. 4:16&17 says that God's people are raised at the second coming of Jesus. Just as John 14:3 says so. Our creator wants us to live a life according to his word and then he will claim us to unimaginable glories that will go on forever. I hope that your husband is an Christian. I guess that I have written enough. Hope that this is helpful. Take care. Hugs to you both. Retired Lucy
