Colon Cancer Support Group
Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.
It's the time of year when I go see the doc's to get the results of the latest scan, appointment is 4th Oct.
To add to the stress I'm moving house from Luxembourg to Switzerland (the German part and I don't speak German)
Then I get a phone call yesterday, to say my mother is in hospital back in the UK and has cancer in the small bowel so this wasn't picked up even though she has had regular colonoscopies, on top of that there are mets to the liver and pancreas, and just to complete matters she had a mini stroke two nights ago.
It's going to be an entertaining few weeks ahead ( employing English ability of massive understatement :-) )

My Spouse was hit with throat cancer in the later part of 04! (He died Dec 23rd of 05) This was suppose to be a total curable cancer.
As you can see it was not! I never dreamed I would be hit with cancer a few years later? I was just starting a new life too and now that happiness I thought I was too have is all gone too.
I have 3 sisters and all 3 have had breast cancer! Thank goodness they are all fine now.
Your mother did the right tests, but they have missed her cancer?
Do you think her 'mini-stroke' had anything to do with her cancer?
You have so much more to deal with than any of us should. (but there are many wearing the same 'Cancer Shoes' in so many families?
You seem so intelligent and I feel you will do well and get through all this, but 'Yes' you sure have a right to be stressed like a lot of us do.
I sometimes wonder how we do it? Our disease treatment seems harder than the disease.
You enjoy your new home and I wish I was going to learn German! :)
