Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.
So I saw the oncologist today, and the verdict on the last CT scan was stable disease, which sounds ok until you find out the definition of stable in terms of cancer, basically stable is no increase greater than 30% was seen.
Also on the downside is that my CEA is up from 4 to 6, given when my mother died hers was 10, it's a little worrying.
On the plus side my onc is going to refer my scans to the cyberknife team to see if I am a candidate for that.
In the mean time off to talk to the surgeons next week to see what they say.

Chances are that there has been very little growth since the last scan and that the non-specialist hospital probably still couldn't see the recurrence, hence their report of stable disease.
