Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.

Hi! I was diagnosed in Jan. 2011 with stage 3 colon cancer. I've done great until recently. My oncologist says I am iron deficient and orderd colonoscopy and other one to look at my esophagus. Ct scan also! He says its to make sure everything is covered! I'm freaking our! I'm so scared ?

Were you on chemo in 2011??? Have you had any colonoscopies since 2011 annual is the norm......Any CT since 2011??? How about routine blood work annually?? Your saying your scared but if you have been having your annual routine work done. The low levels of iron could be nothing to worry about .Many woman are deficient in iron. Start eating a lot of green leafy veggies, liver is also good.....best of luck.....

Yes I have had a colonoscopy pets can ct scans all blood work done the past five years . Everything was fine! I had six months of intensive chemo also. I had a port and then removed!

Oh wow.......so you had the full Monte .......My GF is iron deficient and she takes iron pills as well as eating kale, spinach and liver, it seems to work for her....just a suggestion...your other test I believe would have shown some abnormal results sooner.....keep us updated I will keep you in my prayers.....

Would be amiss if the tests were not done and as Y1 said a lot of ladies are iron deficient.

Ty! I'm just scared because he ordered so many tests! My cancer markers r stable. my tests r all in the next two weeks! I will keep u posted. I am also taking Iron supplements .

Hello! My tests went well! Ty for ur support! Three polyps were removed and will be sent off for testing. Cat scan Wed.

Yep WP great news. After surgery during a routine colonoscopy they found and removed a polyp. Came back as clear.
