Dreams give people motivation, hope. You shouldn't give that up. It's sappy to say, but you might look back and regret not continuing on this path. College isn't for everyone but look at how far you've gotten. Theres no shame in calling it quits either, just spend a lot of time thinking whether or not that's what you really want to do.
And hey, considering you made it this far without cracking under the pressure, I'd say you're doctor material. Good luck.
Do you have anyone close to you who you can talk to about your plans? I have found that those closest to me often give me the best advice.
Would you mind if I prayed for you?
Dear Lord, I thank You for connecting Gabby and I through this forum. I pray that You will surround her with Your love, especially as she grieves. I pray that You will give her guidance as she plans for the next step in her education journey. Whatever happens, God, may You give her peace in her heart and her mind. I thank You for Gabby, Lord, and I pray that You will help her to know that You are always with her.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Gabby, please know that I'm praying for you.
I'm really sorry for everything you've been through, but please don't lose hope. My roommate was a pre-med major, and she struggled with grades but just kept pushing through. It took her longer to graduate but she wasn't willing to give up on the reasons she felt called to be a doctor.
I don't know how to help with the details of what you should do, but I'd really encourage you to not give up. You're in my prayers
I don't think you should ever give up on what you want for yourself. I know you can do it because of everything that you have gone through and OVERCOME. I am so so so sorry for your loss. But on the bright side, YOU grew from your dad's loss, you have strength and growth that you will take everywhere you go. As for your GPA, maybe taking a gap year is not the best idea. when taking a gap year, you may lose motivation and fall out of the flow of college. I know you will be able to raise it eventually. Don't give up on your dream Gabby, you will regret it if you do not do whatever you can to get there. It does not hurt to at least apply to medical school. Yes, the worst they can do is decline you but then you will just be more motivated to try again, and fight harder!! Even better, what if they accept you, and you are so grateful that you did try!!
Whatever you chose to do Gabby, I am sure you have the support system to back you up. Good luck with all your future decisions and endeavors.
You can do this thing.
