College Stress Support Group
This community is dedicated to the unique challenges and stresses of being in college or university, including: relationship challenges, roommates, financial issues, academics, and questions about careers and future. College is exciting, scary, fulfilling, and sometimes a little out of control. Get support from other students and make a new friend!

Please, please, please DO NOT isolate yourself! I know it seems scary and uncomfortable, but putting yourself out there and exploring different parts of campus can be very therapeutic and a great way to meet people! Most colleges have a bustling community of clubs and student organizations, so keep club rush week in mind and check out what your school has to offer. Attend a couple meetings, jump around, and you'll find a group of friends that have interests and personalities that align with yours.
Adjusting to college and a completely new setting is daunting, but not impossible. It just takes time and effort, even if that means changing up your routine a bit to meet new people.
Best of luck with everything, please let me know how you're doing!
I totally understand how you feel. The best thing to do is push yourself to be more outgoing. I made a promise to myself when I started college and that was to push myself to interact with people. I was very shy growing up and the cool thing about going away to school is you can be anyone you want to be. You don't have to be known as the person you were in high school. Every morning you get up make it your goal to say hi/smile to people you pass by and to introduce yourself to at least one new person everyday. Believe it or not it made a huge difference for me!
Know you are not alone in how you are feeling AND push yourself to interact with people!!!! This is just the beginning of your future!!!! Good luck and keep us updated!!!!
