I will try my best to keep this short and sweet, but please bear with me.
I am a junior at a state university in Oregon. I normally get financial aid that covers the majority of my tuition and a $3,000 scholarship twice a year. Last year I attended a school in Washington but had to leave due to medical issues and because I needed to move back to Oregon.
I thought all my debt had been forgiven because it was a medical excuse FROM A DOCTOR saying I could not finish the term. Turns out they forgave all but $4,750 which financial aid will not pay due to the incomplete term. This has left me with a hold on my FAFSA which could not be resolved by the end of fall term, and it will stay blocked until I pay the debt in full. So since I did not pay my tuition at my current school, ($2,300), my grades are on hold and I can't apply for the $3,000 scholarship I would usually receive in January.
So, in short, I cannot apply for loans from school because of the hold, I cannot get my scholarship funds or apply for a loan from a bank because I can't enroll in next term until fall tuition is paid in full,(therefore can't prove I'm even a student), I am not working and my only asset is a car that will only get about $1,500 t the most for a title loan.
Does anyone know of emergency funds, whether or not anyone will approve me for a private loan when I have no income, or a magical spell that will erase this stupid BS?! I am on the verge of spending my last $20 on some vodka and holing up in a dark room somewhere...
