The common cold is a mild viral infectious disease of the upper respiratory system (nose and throat). Symptoms include sneezing, sniffling, nasal congestion; scratchy, sore, or phlegmy throat; coughing; headache; and tiredness. Colds typically last three to five days, with residual coughing lasting up to three weeks.
I had a tonsillectomy this past Tuesday (it is now Saturday) and my healing process has been MUCH better than I anticipated. I have anxiety as well and was not looking forward to how my mind would react to all of this, but I have been able to keep my anxiety under control.
I am unsure of how connective tissue disease would play a part in having surgery-definitely something to speak to an E.N.T. about, but overall if you are getting frequent painful tonsillitis and now the tonsil stones I would definitely recommend getting them taken out.
