Symptoms include sneezing, sniffling, nasal congestion; scratchy, sore, or phlegmy throat; coughing; headache; and tiredness. Colds typically last three to five days, with residual coughing lasting up to three weeks.

Tell us about your personal experience with Chicken Soup as a treatment: Has it worked? Have you had any issues? Any recommendations or tips?

hi, i have tried chicken soup when i get a cold and i do think it helps. actually, if i dont have a sick stomach i have chile!! i think it helps me more because of the hot taste and it seems to clear my head faster.

I use Chicken soup all the time when ever someone in the house gets sick. it breaks fevers some how and seems to make you feel better withing an hour of eating. I think though making it home made is even better because you are able to put what ever you want in, like fresh vegs,which are good for you.

i have a really bad cold and i have had it today and i do feel a bit better but i have been taking everything today so it could be something else

but i did read on a website that it does actuall work because there is some thing in it which helps - really cant remeber what but it does

I am a vegetarian but I find that (vegetable) soup does help. It gives me the fluids I need, is packed with minerals and vitamins my body needs and best of all, it is easy to go down, smells yummy and is warm!

MY DAD MAKES ME HOMEMADE CHICKEN SOUP WHEN I AM SICK IT WORKS EVERY TIME. I LIVE ON MY OWN.

Chicken soup definitely helps my breathing capability when I have a really bad cold...I also drink Emergen-C which has tons of vitamin C (1000mg, to be exact). It tastes great(even though you cant taste much when you have a cold, haha) and it's got a nice fizzy touch to it which tastes great if you pair it with some sparkling water! I really do swear by it, I drink 1-2 packets a day and have not gotten sick in ages.
