Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...
You'll find LOVE one day. The real thing. Not coodependant, destroying kind. There's no grading it- it's there or it isn't.
It wasn't there the first time- in a first place, you have no idea what a joy it will be when you'll get there.
It's everything your previous relationship wasn't. It's peace, joy, mind growing everyday.
Oh, ups, again I wrote about myself.
All the best, you're a clever girl, treat it just as a learning curve.
You didn't lose love; it never existed. You had a fantasy bubble popped. You are mourning the death of a dream. Accept reality that you are free and clear of a major disaster that would have ruined your life.
The way he treated you AFTER is his REAL personality. He made you think you were crazy? Been there.
Do you feel crazy now? Bet not- just said.
Get into counseling to find out why you handed over your life so easily and why you are still so upset.
My name is Robert and I will be 62 in June.
I want to focus on the last part of your dilemma.
You mentioned being "guarded and broken: That's a very normal reaction considering what you have been through. In time, you will let your guard down (little by little) and your broken heart will heal (if you want it to). You won't "crumble" - only dry bread and soda crackers do that. Force yourself to move on and believe that there is someone special out there just for you!
I have full confidence in you!
Best Wishes.
Now you will become the person who will be whole and fully aware and 'all in' the relationship next time vs. drifting off into the web of lies believing it was love.
That self awareness cannot be replaced.....you will have to walk thru alot of rough days to get over it. But in the end, you are going to find a version of yourself that you will be so grateful to have......
If you think of the Tower card in Tarot, it is showing the sign of the tower being torn down. I particularly like getting this card myself because it means I am in a transformation......it hurts, its fire-y, everything breaks down....but it means you get to rebuild and redefine yourself however you please.....
Trust the process and keep feeling your feelings, but don't get stuck in the rabbit hole of the "what if's", negative self talk, and wishing he was different......it is what it is, and I see it as a gift!
Take care of you......xxoo
Take it easy on yourself and love yourself like you want to be loved by others. It will all come together.
