Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...
I think when we take on too much that's draining and un-fulfilling, it's sometimes because we feel guilty. It's important to ask where the need to punish yourself is coming from, and why you think you don't deserve to be in a nurturing, sustaining relationship (with a person or with your work).
I would suggest that you simplify...get rid of whatever is not nourishing you, to the extent that you can. It feels really good!
I also make time to do creative projects of some kind (currently working on editing some family videos). It's a nice reprieve from a rather mechanical, tedious job and the fact that I'm lonely as shit, even in my relationships..
Hope this helps!
So keep your head up. Everyday is a new day. We have all been where you are. We support u. hugs...
PS. This is something you can do without making big changes in your life, like breaking up with someone or finding a new job. I chose to make these changes while IN a bad situation. Remembering to keep my focus on me, etc. Oddly enough, my relationship is now MUCH better than it used to be and it keeps getting better. Not that it will be the case for everyone, but you would be surprised what a change in your own attitude can do to the attitudes of others.
Best of luck, you will get through!
I agree with others, life is not just to be endured. There should be some joy in living as well. Of course, there are times when life is not joyful, such as a loss, but we still have choices. Glad you will focus on you.
