Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...
Are you sure you are "trusting" her, or rather, giving up control and trusting YOURSELF that you'll be okay no matter what?
Think about it...
Hugs.
But I'm definitely not elevating her to God.
Thanks for the thought ;)
It troubles me trying to equate trust for God with trust for a partner.
Wives and husbands come and go, so do BFs and GFs, and God is not on the same level as any person.
When I am single then I can do lots of things for my religion (for God) as like volunteering to help the needy and giving money to people in need, but when I am in a relationship with a woman then I give more attention to the girl, and then there is less time or energy for what I would give to God.
When I was much younger then I cared less, but now that I am older and I have better boundaries then now I only want a GF who will not get between me and God.
I do not even like the idea of giving too much trust to the partner because people will often let us down, and my higher trust in God is what gives me the foundation to be a better man to my Lady.
So I think this might be similar to what DeliA said above - that we must not let the girl be treated as we would treat God or like a God.
When we trust God then it matters far less about trusting other people, because it is hard for people to live up to our trust.
Just me talking here - peace.
