Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...
I don't know anything about you, but if you need the help then I encourage you to go for it. You are worth it and you deserve it. Find a therapist that offers a sliding scale fee and would require you to pay less based on what you make. You can even find a 12-step group related to your needs, which are free. Something will work for you, keep trying. It doesn't matter how many times you've gone, it's so great that you're trying!! Big hugs!
You need to find a way to put the remarks from others back onto them. When they criticize you - say something like, "that's interesting" or something crazy like that - they won't know what to say. You're putting it back on them. Or "hmm" and that's it. My therapist taught me to do that. You need to begin to tell yourself things like: I am worthy, lovable, valuable, special, funny, silly, etc. every day. You need to become your own best friend. There are lots of places that offer therapy that would be more than willing to work with you if you let them know you can't afford their prices. You can make phone calls and ask. You can do this - because you're worth it!
You may not feel it - but trust me - you are doing so well, and being so brave!
The fact that you are opening up to your feelings, even though they maybe overpowering and angry is VERY POSITIVE. Reach out for support, ask for as much help as you need. YOU DESERVE IT!
Big Hug
Oh and remember we are all in the same boat, so we feel for what your going through. You will get there - take care of yourself; give yourself the massive amount of care you give others. Now's the time to turn the focus of care onto yourself. Everyone else can take care of themselves.
It is a difficult road, but a rewarding one.
So pull up a chair and get comfy.
We are all here for you!
