If I am reading you right, you were friends with someone and began having feelings that weren't reciprocated by her? I remember an experience in college that I am using to guide me past the experience I had recently at work with a crush on a co-worker. This woman in college was hot. And she knew it. We started hanging out....going to the movies, concerts, study hall, etc. Well, all the time that we were hanging out I spend not enjoying the friendship, but dreaming of having sex with her or just being her bf.
Well, time passed and we went our separate ways never to see each other again after graduation. Wiser now, I look back on that experience realizing I missed out on a good friendship because I was obsessed with something more that wasn't there.
Today, I am faced with a similar experience and am trying to focus on the friendship part and not pushing for anything else. Easier said than done esp when the emotions I felt recently made me think how heavenly we would've been together. The only difference between my co-worker and my college buddy is that the former isn't the best choice of a friend for me where the latter was everything I needed at the time in a friend.
I don't know if this helps you any. One realization that came me to over the weekend after watching 7 Pounds with Will Smith was how all my life I focused on what was in it for me. I am now approaching every thing in life including freindships with women as an opportunity to give. I ask myself not what I want from someone, but what can I give to them to make them happy.
I wish you luck!!!!!
If she wants to be just friends what is wrong with that? Good for her that she told you. At least she is honest. Now be honest with yourself, she just wants to be friends. Move on with your romantic notions to someone else. There are lots and lots of women out there.
