Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. To tell your troubles, etc.. to your kids is what they call emotional incest.I don't want to make it confusing. you might want to look it up. It is hurtful/harmful to the children.etc...It may be best to talk directly with him .If thats not possible maybe there are other options, like a letter if you think its not possible to talk with him if he's abusive...
Good luck,
Ross
I agree with Ross that you can give him the info in writing if there is a reason it's not safe (or if he's not sober enough to be able to listen) to do it in person.
Direct communication is all you can do. The rest is up to him, sober or not sober. Write a letter if you have to but keep a copy for yourself too.
