There's an exercise where you list your top 25 things you enjoy doing. Then when you feel tempted to "act out" you go and refer to that list. I think number one would be walking, but there must be others...do you like to read (you could go to the library and check out some books if so), watch movies - oh you could go see a movie in the theatres...baking? This weekend might be the perfect weekend to check out meditation. You can also grab your umbrella and take a walk in the rain. :-) So what would your list look like (regardless of rain)?

Agree with Teelana, Grab an umbrella and go walking in the rain! 20 mins meditation a day is a must. Indoor exercise? Learn some yoga moves, Tai chi - belly breathing techniques. Are you on pinterest? Start up a board of all the things you want in life or want to be. A visualisation board. New home, job, body, happiness, wealth, health, friends, whatever you want from life find a picture that sums it up!. You can keep it private so its for your eyes only. Go to a shop and treat yourself to something you would not usually buy. Learn all the lyrics to a song you like. You never know when you will be asked to sing a song in your life! Or better still it makes shower time more relaxing singing that special song.
I tell you what I have been doing recently, I have been watching documentaries on the universe and universe theories. I get so lost in the quantum mechanics that I am actually no longer able to think! Now I am watching docs about Egypt and trying to figure out how and why the pyramids were built, then I either can not think anymore or my head hurts! If my head hurts then I chuck on A Will Ferrell film, something really stupid and funny just to lighten the mood in my head. I watched a film called Stranger than fiction the other day. I liked it. It was funny and I cried at the end! But I have been crying a lot recently and after watching docs about quantum mechanics I do find everything funny!
Who is your role model? Do you have one? If not find one. Find someone you inspire to be like. Read about their life and what they did to become who they were.

Thanks you to you both! Spirits lifted already! Yes I WILL walk in the rain! Meditation is something I have been wanting to look into so i will do that this weekend. So many great ideas....can't wait to get started. Sounds like meditation is something you both do. One thing I just started to look into is a "float room". I have my first appointment in May. Have you heard of it or tried it?

Very good suggestions above. I'm sort of in the same boat and have been struggling with no contact towards my ex for over a week. I honestly am dreading this weekend, as we had plans to go to NYC. I don't have my daughter on Sunday and I know if I just sit here and dwell I will end up co tacking again. I need to take the above suggestions as well. I pray you have a great weekend!

You know what? If you guys are willing, I'd be willing to share my top 25 things I like to do list. :-) I haven't made it yet, just been told about it and thought about making it, but THIS IS THE WEEKEND to make my list. If anyone else is game, who ever comes up with their list first can post it here or start a new thread, I'll be sure to add mine right after I make it. I bet there'd be things on everyone's list that I wouldn't have thought to try but would be interested. And no pressure if you can't come up with 25, that just means you're open to adding things to your list later. ;-)

TeelaNa; I think posting 25 things I like to do is a fantastic idea! I think we should post it in a new thread cause there may be other members who would like to join. Just google Float Rooms and you can see what "floating" is all about. It's a kind of meditation I think. I will let you know once I try it! I live in Vancouver, BC and it's become quite popular her so I thought I'd try it.

Hi luvthtsun. If you have a car there are lots of great places to walk in the surrounding lower mainland area area where you can still stay relatively dry. One of my favorite places is lynn canyon...there's lots of tree cover along many trails and if it's a bit of a drizzly day it's also not that busy :)

Coming up with 25 is actually kind of difficult! Here are some on my list so far:
- hiking
- neftlix
- reading
- gardening
- singing (even though I do not have a good voice)
