I had the exact same problem!!!!
I am so amazed, we seem to have a very similiar background-Wow
Back to your initial message: WELL DONE!
You no longer depend on your Dad's approval! That is amazing.
I used to react exactly like you- every dissaproval looks from my Dad ended up in dramatic crying in my room. I had to hide because my tears would activate his feelings of shame and he would get very angry and sometimes even hit me.
You detached successfully from your Dad! Treat yourself and be proud at yourself. I am happy for you. Much to you
*Hugs*
You are so wise now. Isn't it worth that work? : )))
Keep it up!! XXOO
Ugggghhh fiiiinnnne, I'll admit it, I guess it was worth all this work. ^_~ I joke (well half), yes, I think it'll be worth all this work in the long run and yes, this is a great validation. I still have fear of what I'm going to find out around the next bend....but I can handle my fear and keep going anyway. Yeah, this work is totally not for cowards. ^_^
Did you thank him a day or two later to say how much you treasured that moment? Maybe it could help you build more in the future.
He may crave that validation, too... : )
