Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...

And getting more spiritual. HUGS
I ended up funneling my caretaking compulsion into a career in a 'helping' profession, which only dug me into a deeper hole as I gravitated towards managers who were ultimately abusers, and positions where there was no way I could succeed. I'm completely burned out and trying to make a change there by shifting careers.
Right now, I'm at a place where I've put a stop to everything - I don't waste my time on relationships that aren't affirming, I quit my last job with a lying, abusive manager, and I'm trying to start fresh. It's not easy, and I'm overrun with emotions most of the time, but I feel like this is just the process of burning away those old habits that took all my life to build.
There are lots of resources listed on here on other posts that can get you started. I like all the youtube videos @mirandac lists, and I also like the books: Codependency for Dummies, Codependent No More (Melody Beattie), and Boundaries (by Cloud & Townsend). They're all good for newbies that are trying to understand. I'm still learning.
All the best in your process. This group has helped me a lot.
