I hear your struggle, and i really don't know what i can say to offer support or encouragement. He is obviously a very poorly man who needs more help than you can possibly be able to give. This is not a weakness. I have experienced suicide at close hand from two brothers, one showed no sign of what he was planning, the other made many attempts and we tried to help him but ultimately he made his choice and unless he was locked up we could do nothing more for him. this sounds very clinical but only your partner can go through this, he needs help with his grief from professionals. If he is having other problems with addiction then this is also a profesional area. For your sake you need to get support if you are choosing to stay with him or admit that you can no longer be responsible for him and leave. I had to do this with my brother because i was becoming unwell myself, I loved both my brothers intensely but in that love i had to release them to power higher than myself. Really sorry I can't offer more answers for you.
