I'm sorry to hear about what your going through. I also had an abusive childhood and I'm working through my anger and building my self esteem(I also was in abusive relationships). One thing I've found though and a lot of my reasons to work on my anger and self esteem is because being anger and resentful of my past only steals the future that I can build for myself.
We didn't choose our parents and we couldn't control what happened to us but we are in charge of where we lead our lives. It's completely understandable why your angry about your childhood and it's unfair but that anger is only stifling your chances of happiness for today.
Are you in counseling? maybe that would help. I'm seeing a therapist right now and it's really helping me to face my past and taking steps to move forward. Hope this helps! Lots of love, Bella

It sounds like you are angry that your parents treated you this way because you did not have a normal childhood.
Well, you are in the company of a lot of people who also did not have an idyllic childhood. I have been working through mine by doing various things; journaling, posting, reading books, remembering things, forgiving. Its a process.
You have a right to your feelings, but no one can change the past. Really the only thing we can affect is in the present. So how can you change your relationship with them now as an adult?
