Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...
Codependent No More, Boundaries/Boundaries Workbook, and Beyond Codependency are really good books to check out. As I've suggested before, listen to Brooke Castillo podcasts. They always seem to help me when I'm feeling insecure about myself and my life. And I think Coda may be good for you. I've never been although I want to. You won't know if it's a good place for you until you go and give it some time. You don't even have to share anything when you go. Just go and listen to other people and their stories. You may find that you learn quite a bit and you may also find a good support system from people who understand how you feel and what you're going through.
Keep us posted. :)
I was codep so I picked the first person who showed me attention and I usually picked the totally WRONG person for me.
I could only keep up that farce for 1.5 years and then I'd look for someone else... I was attracted to the EU person so I didn't have to be the real me, I suppose. Did that make me EU??? Maybe.
I'd focus less on the label and more on your behaviors and how it made you feel.
Welcome. The more you read, the more insight about yourself you will gain.
Hugs.
Good luck tomorrow. Let us know how it went!
