Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. What i have read it is just like alanon.
I love Her book the language of letting go. I leave
That in my car. Its softer and more Gentle in many
ways than alanon. Great for when i was going thru
my divorce and needed extra comfort. HUGS
Even if the most important person in your world rejects you, you are still real, and you are still okay.'
"Feelings are not the end all and be all to living. Feelings must not dictate or control our behaviors, but we can't ignore our feelings either. They won't be ignored.
...if we push them away, we lose an important part of us and our lives." (ch. 13)
i also embrace my healthy anger.
Its all A process when getting to know yourself
and Learning to pay attention to whats going on
Inside of you. Pay attention to your body it does
Not lie, your head and heart might lie your body
Doesn't. Thats why gut instinct is so important and
as a codie we were trained to not listen to ourselves.
Use i mesages, i think, i feel, stop using "you" messages,
You made me, you think this or that. The stronger
You get the less you will use any "you" messages.
That is giving your power away. HUGS
This quote resonated with me.
I am observing the power of being able to share what I truly think. Writing it in my journal, sharing it with someone I trust, writing it here - it has shaken me out of a short, but intense depression.
Not vacillating or feeling like I have to trump up my emotions so I can get a response, but just sharing. Saying SOMETHING that's real about what's going on inside (it's a storm inside)- it has been very liberating, and I'm starting to make more choices for myself. REAL choices. Ones that reflect what I truly want. I feel less afraid of making a mistake, and just want to honor where I am now.
