Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...

Our self assessments can be so distorted at times. Depression does a real number on us.
I just need a man in my life doesnt matter if he is unvailable or abusive right because i have urge to control and correct others life rather than controlling self...
Yeah i know the feeling .. been there....
my focus now is me and i take care of self.
What do u think u should do Sunset?
I get where you're coming from with the boyfriend. My STBX is very much the same way - outgoing and always wanting to go play and be around friends. Not necessarily anything wrong with that, as long as he also makes time for you independent of his friends (which my STBX didn't like to do). It may come down to being a compatibility issue between the 2 of you.
Get some help for your code issues first, and then see where you are. One step at a time.
Can you reach out to some of your former female friends and get together with them? Most of us (if not all, but cannot speak for all) need more than just a romantic partner in our lives. A variety of friends is truly the spice of life for me. They bring new perspective, ideas and experiences.
Maybe reach out and see if you can meet one or two of them for a coffee or window shopping or even at a park. It does not have to be expensive, it can just be for a chat.
People need connection. I reached out today to a recent widow (I used to work for her husband), and we both were happy about it. Your former friends might be really happy to hear from you. Most people want to make that human connection. :-)
Hugs,
Shar
