You got a great deal of information out of this meeting, which I find beneficial!
1) You confirmed to yourself that he is still in a self-destructive modus, and that is NOT what you want. Now you are sure you do NOT want to go back to being with him.
2) You confirmed that he is blaming you for a situation he created, and psychically abusing you; trying to cohearse you to go back to situation zero
3) You can now pay attention to your emotions of disappointment and anger, which are telling you this is not what you want and not leading you to situation where you can even be half-way happy.
4) You seem to have decided that you will not go back to situation zero. So I think that is progress.
Personally I find nothing wrong with the fact that you were willing to listen to him - the big difference is that you will not do what he wants, but what you want. Thumbs up for you!
It takes Time
God forgives you . He loves you remeber that!
Stay Strong, Good Luck.
