Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. I really would suggest a good counsellor will help you through this
I think a lot of the time I will try to 'fill' time instead of using it constructively to face what's really going on with me.
I mean I think this always talking or texting someone is a device you devised to help your anxiety.. and if it is working for you.. then why stop at least now..unless it is crippling you and causing your life to be unmanageable.
I think with spiritual and emotional growth this will calm down.. along with input from your therapist..
Listen talking on the phone and texting is better than abusing drugs right???
Recovery is about growth and taking small steps gradually... and over time you will see a change.
It's great that you're going to a counselor and talking through your feelings. I was so terrified of being alone too. Instead of doing things to avoid, I started actually feeling those feelings and it was awful. But I survived one day, then the next, and the next. After time, I started feeling comfortable with myself. I started to do little things for myself and took care of myself. I pursued my dreams, interests and hobbies.
