Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...
Also, maybe think about why you fear the future...
All we have is this moment.
I was brought up as christian, I had to go to church every Sunday. I believed in it until I was about ten. Then I didn't believe in God any more. I hated the church and hated God and I might have been angry with him.
I'm 30 now and when I started dealing with my codependency, about two years ago, I read books recommending to believe in God. I tried it and I realized that it makes life easier.
My faith strengthened a lot in the past month as I've been going through another crisis. I keep telling myself that if I lose this girl, that's because it's God's will. He's put this girl in my way because at this stage in my life she is what/who I need in my self development. I'll learn the things I need and I'll move on if it doesn't work out.
I started to accept that there is always a chance that she's not the one and if it doesn't work it will hurt. But I know I'll survive, because I've done it before and I know and trust God that he will help me and everything will be okay and everything IS okay.
I still hate going to the church as I have bad experiences and memories of it, so I don't go, but I believe in God and I pray to him. When I pray, all I do is I ask for help, and when I get help I say thank you.
Just keep telling to yourself "Everything is okay".
Faith and trust in God is nothing but a hand rail. It's something to hold onto. Faith doesn't just come. If you decide to believe in God, you'll need to practise it. But believe me, it works.
Good luck!
Also, think about your kid/s. Would you want THEM to have the anxiety of Tomorrow?
You may have to develop some habit- do something like wear a rubber band on your wrist and snap it and walk away from whatever you are doing when you start to "Future F8ck" yourself, as I like to call it.
Hugs.
