Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...
Welcome to the Codependency Support Group!
It is very, very, very difficult being codependent. I know.
I am living it every day, too.
I go to Al-Anon meetings. Maybe you can, too. They
are so helpful! I am working on being a better me.
Love,
heathercliff
Welcome to the group, this is a good place to be for someone in your situation. I think one of the keys to your problem is learning how to hold onto your money and to not allow it to be spent on drugs. We codependents often find ourselves going along with things that no one else would ever agree to, and I know it can be extremely difficult to break away from those patterns once they are established. Most people just wouldn't understand why you would allow your income to be taken from you like that, but the people in this group understand it because many of us have been through similar situations. I recommend you check out the local Codependents Anonymous meetings in your area. Also, like Heathercliff said, Al-Anon is a great resource for people with alcoholics in their lives.
Congratulations on the grandchild, too! You've been through a lot, but now will at least be some joy.
Try going to Ala Non Meetings/ Nara Non..

* found at Narcotics Annoymous. Sometimes for me, growth may hurt or it may be joyful. We will try to understand you and guide you but you must make the decisions for your SELF. This is a true lesson in finding your SELF. If I don't learn for my SELF, I will forget the value of the Lessons God/ or my Higher Power, has given me and helped me with.
