Could you be a little more specific, please? I have never heard of them or maybe I have just under a different name.

I looked it up. It's a cigarette or marijuana joint dipped in PCP. Some think it's embalming fluid that's used but that is incorrect. Somewhere along the line PCP picked up the slang "embalming fluild. Whatever it is ....it doesn't sound very good.

Sherm sticks, getting wet. It makes you feel as if you've gone permanately insane. With acid or shrooms you can kind of control your trip, this crap takes you on a trip of it's own. Some people hallucionate, some just kind of fall asleep, like in a stupor. When you're in the stupor, it's called getting stuck. It's not really enjoyable. It's more of an acquired taste and high.

I have tried that and it was dipped in formadalhyde as the guy who through the party was an undertaker and drove home afterwards. What I remember is I felt like I was driving 80mph, when in fact I was only doing 25. Not one of my brighter moments. I didnt have any residue effects from it.

Did you do it again after that? I know my son tried it over the summer and did it again recently. Someone told me that they heard it has been his choice of drug lately....scary.

I hate to admit this but Im an upper baby. I took things that made me get up and do things but as the good addicts we are we try everything and anything. Pot made me paranoid and I didnt like it, so for me that was an experiment nothing more.

I would be very concerned if your child is smoking pcp. When I ran the sober-living house, I had a woman come through who took one hit of acid too many. She was gone, mentally she was like a child, so could no longer reason, no longer care for herself. She is 38 and will before long need long-term acute care. The PCP has destroyed her brain and her nervous system.

Please talk to your son. I will help you with anything you need. I am a great researcher, so let me know and Im home most days so I can look things up for you. Please, please find out if he is doing it and lets hope he stops doing it.

Since I have access to my son's instant messaging -- it gives me some idea of what he's doing. There has been no indication he's still doing woo but that doesn't mean he's not doing it. I am keeping an eye on him...

Another suggestion would be to sit him down and show him the effects that drugs have on his body. When we are out there using we dont care about how it is damaging our bodies. Also, too, if you can call around to the acute centers, nursing homes, some places like that, I know that some families allow their members to be observed for the purpose of showing the effects of drunk driving, drug overdoses, and such. You will have to sign a release of confidentiality but anything that produce a visual seed is well worth it. You and your son are in my prayers.

Thank you so much for your advice. I need to work on how to present it to him. Our son is so very immature and will not listen to me at all...even when I say it in a soft voice. He will actually start singing as I try to talk. The only time I was able to get him to listen to me, and that was recently, was when I bought him cigarettes (yes - I've done that a few times) and so that was when I had his undivided attention. I refused to buy them until he listened to me. Perhaps I will try that again. At that time he admitted smoking pot but told me he cut out all the other stuff. I believe he's cut down on some but between the Zanies and the woo sticks since leaving rehab after 4 days..he hasn't completely cut back. **Note: He forgot I monitor his IM's because of what he says in his conversations to his friends... I don't want to reveal that I am checking it because, otherwise, I would be in the dark about what he does. I also know that if I tell him what I saw, he would deny it and say that he knows I check it and made things up. He's so slippery and difficult to get through to.

We are addicts and we will do anything to get what we want and that is to get high. I wouldnt tell him you know because if you do you will lose the only real line of communication. I was thinking of you today and I have another suggestion. Maybe after you have your big sit down talk with him, maybe you could set up a "reward" plan for him to stay clean. We addicts are all about the "reward" Maybe you could start him with a savings account towards something he really wants now or in the future(car, college) and tell him that every month or every other month you will make a deposit into this account for him but he has abstain from the use of any type of drug, stay honest, and clean. If he slips, money gets withdrawn. This could be the incentive for him to change the path he is on.

PCP is by far the most unpredictable high i've ever experienced. Depending on exactly whats in it.. you could feel mostly drunk, or completely spazzed and out of your mind. Or both. that stuffs no good.. not to mention its one of the most damaging to the body.. i think it causes brain lesions.. a friend of mine was a neuropharmicolgost.. and she would always yell at me with exactly what i was doing to my body.
