hello everyone i am new to the sight and i am not the one addicted to cocaine but my husband is i wont go into details but i will ask can someone do 1000 dollars in one night of cocaine ? and does a person be by themselves when they are using ? my husband would be gone for 1 or 2 days and take his whole paycheck and come back with nothing he would stop for 2 or 3 weeks and do it again. and he does not look like he is addicted to any drugs he looks healthy well groomed and in right mind. but i would catch him in lies that seemed to be genuine and i would believe him always thought it was another woman but he would have a good lie for that finally he has come to me and told me he is addicted to cocaine i asked him to get help and he told me he can stop on his own with gods help but he says he is not ready for that yet he is not ready to give it up i have put up with enough i dont know much about drugs but i do know no good comes from it .i found myself going down trying to stay with him so i left well i havent heard from him or seen him he no longer keeps in contact its been 8 weeks and heard from him 3 times but he hangs at his families house and says he lives with a friend does this sound like someone who is addicted help me out please

It may be something you will never fully understand unless your an addict yourself. But I never dreamed I would put drink and drugs ahead of my own child. But the shame I felt when I had to stop breast feeding my own baby because I chose cocaine over feeding my own child....well that says it all really. I couldn't stop for the most important in my life. I can't explain it but the mental obsession and cravings meant I had to use. I was powerless until I got proper help ... which I did today I am a good Mum and my daughter won't remember the old me. I remember the dark times because it motivates me to do the things i need to do on a daily basis to stay clean, attend meetings, speak to my sponsor, pray, work, help others - i'm sorry to say it had to get pretty bad for me to seek help. When I could get away with it I did. I don't think your husband is a bad person - but he has an illness. For years I thought I was a bad person - but Addiction is an illness and there is a solution for me it was AA and NA - I hope this helps you a bit

I was addicted for a year and a half to cocaine. I was raised in a loving home and even attended a character building program as a teenager. I never even told my parents, to this day, about my addiction. i was being emotionally abused at the same time as my addiction, which only fueled the fire. ultimately i decided for myself that it was unhealthy. I quit cigarettes by getting a vaporizer and then weened myself off the cocaine. it is difficult to tell when someone is high on cocaine, but the paranoia and lies youre experiencing are normal. it made me very paranoid and unable to tell the truth. the only reason i didn't miss work is because that is where the drug was provided to me.

I would only suggest that someone like yourself get all the information and support you can to help you live a reasonably healthy life. There is a support system for people who are in relationships with people who are using and/or addicted to alcohol and drugs. The organization is Al anon. It has been in operation for a long time and proven to be helpful to people who are codependents of addicts/alcoholics. I highly recommend it as a useful source to learn how to take care of myself in a situation such as yours. Information is power, especially when I use it.
