Cocaine Addiction & Recovery Support Group
Cocaine addiction is the excessive intake of cocaine, and can result in physiological damage, lethargy, depression, or a potentially fatal overdose. Though the immediate craving to do more cocaine is strong and very common, this feeling usually subsides in most users within an hour. This craving can, as it has in many users, develop rather quickly into an intense...
In time, it's easier.
But in his head, anytime that cocaine is mentioned, even the knowledge to know he can afford it, will trigger a want for it. This is a physical chemical craving happening in the brain, uncontrolled by him.
I know better now, but cocaine is fucking delicious and if I didn't know better I'd do it everyday, all the time.
But I know better. I have responsibilities- to others, to myself to make wise decisions about whether I should or shouldn't. It's not worth the guilt I'd put myself through.
Anytime you need anything, let me know.
I had to be nice to myself and make myself feel good by making myself eat enough healthy food, sleep enough, make myself wear clean clothes, and shower and tend to hygiene often, so I felt good.
Really trying to appreciate simple things like a cup of warm tea or coffee helped. And if I thought about using, I'd remember all the things I can't stand about addiction, and keep busy by cleaning out a drawer or something.
For about 5 months I felt on really shaky-ground as far as recovery, and sure, mood swings and fatigue were common. It feels like being a fish out of water pretty often.
Everyone differs drastically, but for me, it took 3 years before I
really started feeling more stable in recovery, and really seeing and enjoying my new life, and feeling a good distance from falling back over the fence into a relapse.
Well, I hope some of this helps. The best of luck to you and him.
Most of the work will be up to him showing him your support is fine but this is a journey he needs to do for himself.
As an addict myself and clean for a number of years it was up to me to make it work But the support I got from my family played a very big part it gave me more to work for.
Once I made up my mind that I didn't want to use any more that's when the work began and I never had any triggers from the first day until now I never turned back never wanted to use it again and to this day I still feel the same way I hate everything about Cocaine/Drugs .
I was a crack head and would spend anywhere from $400 to $600 a night or a binge when I walked away that was it done.
so it can be done if he wants it bad enough play it safe show support not money.
I hope this was some type of help
