I got into an argument with my BF over this woman from AA that he meets most mornings for coffee. He always seems to be with her and it is pissing me off. I talked to him about it and he says shes like his temporary sponsor. I thought a sponsor shouldnt be of the opposite sex. He says because they talk about meetings and discuss the program and her son and that I shouldnt be jealous.
He says I have no reason to be jealous of their friendship. I realize that I am jealous of the quality of time they have together, and now when he comes home I have to beg for him to get out of bed and do stuff together. Last month I forced him to go to lunch and go to the park with me. This is what our relationship is now without drugs.
I was so pissed and so hurt that I talked my dad into giving me money and called my dealer. The number was disconnected and he wasnt home. I told myself I was going to go back later and get some. Fortunately I was able to talk myself out of wanting the drugs, mostly due to the fact that I really didnt have the gas to drive 20 minutes to get some.
I realize I need to get my ass to meets especially if my first thought of dealing with stress is to use.

When i came to aa 4 years ago me and my partner has nearly split up many times because its such a huge change and i was learning to live for the first time - its now like im in a new relationship that has come back together. When ive relapsed my biggest fear is that my partner will leave me and the consequence of my using is that we will have to go through the same struggles and i have risked my relationship with him. So I have to try and be patient because its hard for him and try and do the right thing on my side of the street because i have power over what i do but im powerless over his thoughts feelings and actions.
