Cocaine Addiction & Recovery Support Group
Cocaine addiction is the excessive intake of cocaine, and can result in physiological damage, lethargy, depression, or a potentially fatal overdose. Though the immediate craving to do more cocaine is strong and very common, this feeling usually subsides in most users within an hour. This craving can, as it has in many users, develop rather quickly into an intense...
The misconception about alcohol is that since it's legal, it must be okay. It's not. It's just another substance that can squeeze the life out of you just like any other.
For a very long time, I could not have alcohol without wanting to score some coke. I moved away from that world into a new city entirely. I went on a cocaine hunt the first few months I was here and came up empty. Then I just stopped looking. Once my brain stopped trying to convince me to find it, I could enjoy a few drinks here and there with my new friends I'd made here. I can socialize here and not think about cocaine at all.
But it's a process, and it takes time. I'm thinking you should step back from alcohol, at least while your brain stops making the association between drinking and snorting/smoking.
Im down to 2x a week but its not fun anymore I just get paranoid and feel insane and am even experiencing stimulant psychosis that when Im on lack of sleep makes me feel like i might be mildly schizophrenic. It just needs to stop completely.
I want to move out of state and have before and didnt use for my first 10 months. but I wasnt going to meetings or Recovering, I was simply abstaining. And thats only temporary for so long with relapsing being inevitable. It was actually coming back to my miserable city I'm from that was my relapse. And I'm stuck here again and I hate it and now that the cold is gonna be coming, I'm thinking about getting away to another paradise and starting over new. I
so hope that its like your story, Tolerance of getting clean because of moving to a new place and not having a connect, as it was for me when I first moved acrossed America. I really belong on a beach with palm trees! And seeing I'm single with no children I do plan of moving away hopefully in the next month and getting into a residential program. I do think that would be best.
I was always semi in denial of having an alcohol problem because it wasnt nearly as bad as many of the drunken slobs I have observed in my day. I ended up with a boyfriend that was having black-out problems on alcohol that I broke up with over so he pledged to give sobriety a try if I'd give him another chance as a sober man. So I pledged to not drink with him to make it easier.
Despite the last 5 weeks of our relationship being basically clean and sober as far as non-herbals go, I decided I still didn't want to be with him so we are no longer together.
Even though I went through a breakup with the worse asshole Ive ever been with especially as far as mistreating goes seeing each and every single one of my exes aside from him were true gentlemen but he was in a whole diiferent category as being the leeching, provoking, angry abuser type... I STILL didnt drink or use.
In 4 days I will celebrate 3 months clean of using or drinking even alcohol!!! I've been toking to be honest. And I believe thats whats helped me get this far. Herbs heal.
I read that you are in Cocaine recovery and I must commend you for getting clean with that drug. However, too many times addicts will unknowingly trade one addiction for another.. In your case, it may be alcohol...
Well, take care.
