Hi, my boyfriend is a crack addict. I have been trying to help him and deal with it for about 3 years or so now. It is severely affecting our relationship and our lives. I have never been through this with anyone before and i don't know how to help him. I get angry and resentful with him and that doesn't help. We have no money because of it and with no money comes no help. He can't get into rehab or treatment without money. I really need some kind of help please.
The toll his addiction is taking on you has not peaked.You are probably more apprehensive in your life than ever before. This will continue, mistrust will continue, even if he does get clean. Some areas/towns have naranon, most have alanon. These are support groups for family and friends of addicts and of alcoholics. Both are excellent places for you, to show you what you are dealing with as far as you go. There is a group here called Family and Friends of Addicts. You can check that out as anonymously as you checked this out. The face to face support is much better, deeper than these groups made up mostly of people at their wits end with the person who is using drugs, in their respective lives. The face to face support of people like you makes the reality of the entire situation more tangible. On top of that, many of these people have been involved for years, so they have much experience to offer you.
