Yea I have one and it seems as if it has gotten bigger after my last bone graph. I did some research on it and I think it's called an oronasal fistula? I've been trying to get mines corrected for a long time, but my surgeon won't correct it until I have my next surgery.

I have one where my hard and soft palate meet and one in my front gum where my tooth is missing. They are tiny and don't affect my speech. A little mucous leakage but tolerable.

I also have one in the center of my palate where everything comes together and two morein the front where my dogteeth would have been. they do not make much difference in my speech or in blowing my nose. I used to think they did, but then I had a pharyngeal flap done and solved most of my speech and being able to blow up ballons etc. The air was actually going up the back of my throat and out my nose when I spoke because the back of my palate could not close off the passageway. At any rate, the tiny holes are irritating with the drainage like Barbieo said, but that's all.

Mine kept re-opening too. It's really small now, but surgeons say there isn't a whole lot more they can do, so I guess I'm stuck with it. My voice is a little nasally, but oh well.

I too have a small hole in the roof of my mouth. Surgeons closed it twice but it opened back up. At least its smaller now. Doesn't affect me too much, I do still talk with a slight lisp and sound a bit nasily. Oh well, I know it could be much worse.

I've had several repairs.

I have 2 very small ones that I will hopefully get closed in March. Hopefully this makes my voice less nasally.

My voice isn't nasally in my opinion, but when I have a clogged up nose I talk with a lisp kind of. It's okay to live with but it is annoying.

My leaks are annoying but they are do-able. :-)

I have one (at least) where the hard and soft palates meet, and I swear I've got one somewhere around my two front teeth. That one only bothers me if I get listerine up there! Ouch. I've got the drainage problem, too, mostly at night. I've found a good steel tongue scrapper does a great job cleaning up in the morning. You can usually only find them at stores selling imports from India. The plastic ones sold in this country don't do anywhere near as good a job.

I'm not going to bother trying to close the holes, since they often persist anyhow. I'm not sure how nasally I am these days, but I think it it much more noticeable when I have a cold. And I cannot really blow my nose, either. Can't get up enough pressure to do it. Kinda annoying, but oh well.

I have a very tiny and tightly almost closed hole. It doesn't ever cause me problems unless I need to suck on something really hard. Once I was trying to suck water out of a camelbak, it was half frozen inside and I just could not generate enough pressure in my mouth to suck it out. I was out hiking with a friend and ended up pretty dehydrated since I couldn't get the water out until it melted some more. I used to get drainage back in the day, before one of my surgeries fixed it.

I just got out of the hospital for an operation to close the holes in my mouth. They failed to close the front one but it is smaller now. The back one is closed and im stuck drinking liquids for a week and then mashed potato type foods for another 2 weeks.

I feel for you Flagg, be gald when you're all healed up. Hope you're happy with the results!

i have one also! doesn't effect me though, i've just lived to deal with it :)
