Clarity Community Group
This group originally had been formed to lend support and to have open discussion on the topic of dissociation. We have since opened up to all aspects of PTSD, BPD, DID, BIP, Depression, etc. Basically our group is a safe supportive (non judgemental) place for open discussion on any somewhat related topic. We do not discriminate. We consider ourselves to be...
I don't see how anyone could do one without the other, frankly.
I, for one, am not much a fan of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy...or even Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
I believe, in relation to trauma...that Primal Therapies are super, for releasing the energy of stored emotional trauma...if those memories are reintegrated in the therapy process.
EMDR, in my opinion, is a great therapy in the short run. But, I believe that is side-steps a large part of the emotional component of traumatic memory.
i learnt loads in psychotherapy so yeah
not sure it helped my depression but it certainly helped me to become self aware and understand what it is that is going on in the world!!
and currently having counselling with a sprinkling of CBT i think
the counselling is great
the CBT is annoying as hell and makes me feel nuts to be honest
but somehow i believe she is helping me because i'm not depressed and my confidence is growing and my relationships are improving and it is by this i measure my progress
not sure what that psychoanalysis one is to be honest
give it three weeks of whatever and if we are not seeing progress ...change...or complain give them one more chance ...then chance
(i love you btw)
I couldn't stand CBT. It made me feel like a simpleton. Perhaps because I was also fighting the traumaof a TBI at the same time. Idk.
Hugs to all!
