Clarity Community Group
This group originally had been formed to lend support and to have open discussion on the topic of dissociation. We have since opened up to all aspects of PTSD, BPD, DID, BIP, Depression, etc. Basically our group is a safe supportive (non judgemental) place for open discussion on any somewhat related topic. We do not discriminate. We consider ourselves to be...
No one can answer that question ahead of time.... It simply happens.
A year ago when I felt I had nothing to live for.... I considered life absolutely undoable.....
Am I so glad I stuck around to see what was around the corner.
I am so blessed to have met all of my dear friends here. You all are like an army by my side at all times.
I also met my wonderful Mikey. I was not looking, and certainly did not expect to find love here on DS.
So you never know what else life has in store for you. It is definately worth sticking around to find out.
I think we need a group hug. I know I need one.
In Suicide Intervention, you have to get accustomed to the fact that you have no control. You may have influence, but ultimately no control. The best you can do is find something controllable in each situation and attempt to hand that to the person who thinks they want to die.
A person gets into that condition through literally hundreds of decisions...many made by them, but usually most made by others in their lives. When you intervene for someone who is suicidal, you are literally at the end of the line...where other supports for the individual have failed.
If you're going to do this kind of work it will be for those who will allow you to help them.
It's very easy to take personally, but you generally cannot stop an Army Tank with a pebble (unless you place it in the right place at the right time - another challenge for the Crisis Interventionist).
I hate to say it, but there are a lot of people who play loose and risky with their lives (which is indicative of a host of problems) and they get a rush running toward the edge of the cliff and then applying brakes to stop them just short of the edge.
It's important to not be sitting in the back seat when they make that drive.
You can't save everyone.
When someone gets online or on the phone, enlisting our help, there is a part of them crying out for help...in pure agony...but there are many who are being beaten up by their Internal Bully and, in a sense, you are fighting with the people who brutalized a child, long ago.
You are here for the one's you can save. For the one's you can't...then, let 'em go.
Some people are just too sick. You and I cannot make that decision as to who is or is not too sick. Where there's life, there's hope...so we do the best we can with what we've got.
It wouldn't do for me to be a licensed Psychiatrist. I'd use every tool at my disposal...exhaust every pathway, while I had time. But, I'd also realize that I would only be there for those who would surrender to my care.
As such, you can't really drug it away or shock it away...you have to love it away (because it's internalized shame and there's been no drug made for that)...and that's why much, much, much so called Psychiatry won't work.
i am sorry people are hurting and in pain
i love you all
Depression, oftentimes, is caused by a combination of biological and Psychological factors. Many times, it's self loathing turned inward. What powers it are the myth of the messages your were told growing up...and the unresolved trauma you have stored in your body.
Myth and trauma team up to punish you.
totally
and then it passes and i eat some chicken
Fuck.... I just hate this helpless feeling. I have a problem of over analyzing all the " what ifs" in my brain.
It is a struggle. A fucking struggle.
Rae ... I over think & over analize (not sure of that spelling) all the time. I have to keep reminding myself that it's OK to be NOT perfect. I also have to keep reminding myself that "it's not all up to me" to make something right. I like your term "general manager of the universe". Made me smile.
