I am praying that he can stick to his decision to be done.
Do you get support from anyone or groups that helps you deal with his illness?
I am so thankful that giving up alcohol in any form was really easy for me. I was never "addicted" to alcohol in my opinion. I drank what I thought was an acceptible amount daily, due to the pain from my dystrophy. It didn't stop the pain but, coupled with more than enough Tylenol, a glass or two of wine allowed me to sleep for a couple of hours.
I still have a great deal of pain to work through with my dystrophy and have realized that this is part of my life from her on out. But, I don't take anything much for the pain and certainly no alcohol and Tylenol only occasionally and in small amounts (i.e. when I have a fever that nothing else works for).
Blessings to you and hugs and prayers........CarolLentz
I think, for the most part, we have all been there and done that and got the tee shirt to prove it! No longer do I feel alone even when I am "alone"........I don't have to rely on others in my little circle of family and friends. to know what I am going through and why I am so tired or having bad days. I was able to realize through this site that there is hope for a better tomorrow.
I love to read the positive posts from WTC and pugdaddy and Marilyn and so many of the others. They have sort of become part of my "family"....... They are truly sharing a part of themselves that others around us don't really understand. It takes away some of the fear and anxiety, just to know you can come here and "unload" or praise God or de-stress as my daughter puts it. A blessing, indeed.
I will keep you in my prayers (and I sincerely mean that) because I know first hand that prayer works where everything else may fail. We just have to "believe". Hugs and prayers.........CarolLentz
