Sounds like your sleep patterns may be reversed Marilyn. When I started school full time, I thought it would go back to normal without the day time naps. It's still a constant fight to get normal sleep.
Stay away from Ambien. Amnesia, sleep-walking, driving, eating, etc. The stuff can make you do very strange things and then have no memory of it.
Insomnia is awful, four days with no sleep is my record. Still have odd sleep patterns, but I take Xanax, liver safe, in very small doses, 0.25 or 0.5 mg. amounts if I have sleep issues. Maybe once or twice a month. Knocks me out for a good ten hours.
Not really what it's meant for, but a good side effect. Doctor put me on it and another anti-depression med, but I gradually took myself off the anti-depression meds and rarely take the Xanax.
