I been told I have fibrosis of the liver stage 3 , I apply for clinical trial for a drug call Elafibranor. I I can not find out what is the difference between cirrhosis and fibrosis ? The doctor says it's seriously but just how much. I was also wonder if THC would help to slow the progression of the fibrosis... No doctor in South Carolina gonna say yes. Then diets and excises any suggestions. Yes I am tired I just though I was lazy turning 60

Hi! Pretty exciting to be in a trial for fibrosis! They are making extraordinary gains in fibrosis reversal, something not possible until very recently.
What precipitated the fibrosis, do they know?
Fibrosis is scarring, the liver tissue becomes scar tissue, scar tissue is stiff & has no blood supply so it can't perform anything.
Cirrhosis develops from fibrosis. It is a worsened & later stage of fibrosis, the liver structure collapses, liver functions fail, and related functions fail. Can lead to pulmonary hypertension & liver failure. Cirrhosis will cause further scarring.

So far as thc I do not know anything. Your doctor is the best person to ask.

You can find liver friendly diets on line. Most important no alcohol or toxins to liver. Depending on your current energy & fitness levels, you can begin walking. Increase your distance every week. It helps mentally, too. There are lots of stretching exercises that require no equipment, no gym. Check on line. Youtube. Get up & get moving!

Firstly it's great that it's been detected before you've reached cirrhosis, so that's something to be thankful for. But as above, keep that system clean and clear especially regular bowel movements (lactulose will help flush toxins). Plenty of water and protein, leafy greens, iron and exercise. This should help keep your red blood cells up and carrying the oxygen around to repair as much as possible, just don't over do it! it may also help to look in to flu shots for the winter. You'll need your immune system to be as strong as possible and keep warm. Good luck with the trail and keep positive, all the best, Jim

Thanks for the support,, I will keep everyone updated about the clinical trial. Veterans administration is the one helping with the trial thru MUSC . I first have to be accepted.. all the paper work and biopsy,, blood test has been done.
